Kempinski hotel looking forward with their plans in Indian market
Reto Wittwer has spent almost two decades as President and CEO of Kempinski Hotels, the Geneva-headquartered luxury hotel group. Established in 1897 in Berlin, Kempinski Hotels is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel collection of 73 five star properties spread over 30 countries worldwide. A self-proclaimed rebel, Wittwer started his career at The Westin Palace Hotel, Madrid and has worked his way through some of the biggest names in the business.
One of the longest serving CEOs in the industry, Wittwer answered questions on the need for creativity and innovation in luxury and why he refuses to conform to status-quo. Edited excerpts:
When asked that with one hotel up now, what are your plans going ahead in India they stated that they are proud to manage a stunningly beautiful product at the Kempinski Ambience Hotel in Delhi, with the largest, pillar-less ballroom in a luxury hotel in India. Now that they are present in Delhi, their focus is on Mumbai and other Tier 1 cities. There are a few projects that are also being assessed at the moment.
