Kochi City Corporation ties up with Railways to manage waste

The Kochi City Corporation is planning to tie up with the Railways to channel the city’s non-degradable waste and construction debris for construction activities of the Railways.

The waste can be used as a filler for the construction of platforms and other development works. Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation has already tied up with the Railways for the use of plastic waste.

It signals a relief for Kochi city which generates more than 380 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day. Plastic and other non-degradable waste comprises a considerable quantity of waste being generated.
