Land issues delay Hyderabad Metro Rail project
With about 1,400 property owners resisting the acquisition of land, the execution of Hyderabad Metro Rail project is facing delay, according to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
The GHMC has so far managed to acquire 2,000 properties, but the corporation has to acquire 1,400 more properties.
The Additional Commissioner (Planning), Mr K. Dhananjaya Reddy said that more than 80 per cent work has been done to facilitate the project, however, there are hurdles in some segments.
In the meeting held, a special focus has been given to the roads including the metro rail project, organized by the Institute of Town Planners, India.
The corporation is trying to persuade property owners by providing extra vertical space and a package to the tenants affected by the acquisition of land.
The administration has been facing difficulties in collecting revenue records which are not up-to-date.
