Lowest turnout with only three residents for public hearing session
Chandigarh- UT administrator Shivraj Patil who had conducted the public hearing has seldom got more people involved in it. There were merely three people attending the redressal of their grievances. Last years hearing had seen four members though.
Initially there were four residents who were supposed to take part but due to ill health, one of the members was absent and the rest three members were quite unhappy as their complaints were not heard in an effective manner.
One of the members, named Jagdeep Singh who had a grievance about the unfair treatment was met out by the local police in a property case and stated that he was ignored by the administrator as the administrator had halted him midway and that they can seldom help him.
Similarly, there were two other people who had approached the administrator with their grievances more than once but their efforts were in vain.
Henceforth, the public hearing sessions have been witnessing low turnout of complainants in the past one year due to regular cancellation of hearing session at the 11th hour and the complaints deemed fit for hearing are selected and the complainants are informed about the schedule of the public hearing.
