Mangalore to propel new Waste Disposal Drive

No Comments Sub Category:Community,Municipality Posted On: Oct 25, 2011

Naringana a small gram panchayat near Bantwal taluk in Mangalore is all set to launch its new waste disposal drive, this committee is working hard since the time it won Nairmalya Gram Puraskar for the year 2006 and 2007. The main idea of the committee is to pave way for the wastes getting disposed from the village houses to be dumped in separate pits and re-generate into a manure which can be thus used for domestic purposes of the residents in the villages. Meanwhile the major problem faced by the residents of these villages is scarcity of water only during summer every year even though the village has sufficient water storage bodies.

The residents are in a glee that this major problem paved way for them to initiate the “Rain Water Harvesting” system, with this implementation the villagers are now free from water scarcity problems. The Panchayat president Ismail Meenamkodi reported over the same saying that this initiative was taken off since few months and this has intern helped the 50 percent of the villagers in having their dumping pits. The main idea behind these implementations were to stop the waste disposals overflowing on the city and village roads.
