Mayawati writes to Prime Minister on the bad condition of Highways in Lucknow
The Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati has written a letter to the Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh on the prevailing bad condition of roads in the national highways throughout the city in Lucknow. This approach is very interesting since the UP chief minister has used the technology wherein a DVD footage of the condition of the roads has been sent to the prime minister along with the letter to prove the same.
The letter encloses issues of improper maintenance of the city highways and worse maintenance of drainage overflow during heavy rains. Also she has requested the prime minister to take immediate action to solve the prevailing infrastructure problems which is intern affecting the development of the state. The funds is yet to be released to complete the construction of the Highway roads and the authority of this in taken initiative by the Public Works Department (PWD).
