MCG looking for police support during anti demolition drive

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 25, 2014

Several weeks after some of the officials were beaten up so badly that they had to be hospitalized following an anti-encroachment campaign; the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has decided to request the state government for a dedicated police force during the anti-demolition drives.

The offficials say that over 669 acres of the 3663 acres MCG land is currently under the encroachment, according to latest estimates, and attempts to evict the land from the mafia have failed as they do not have the necessary force to oust it.

The Encroachers are sitting on a prime land that’s worth is over Rs 4000 crore and there is nothing that they can do about it as they do not get any kind of adequate police protection when they go for demolition drive as stated by a senior official.

This major problem cannot be done away with without proper police protection. Hence the Municipal Corporation has thought about seeking police protections. The mafia’s who have taken captivity of the land are not trying to cooperate in turn they are using violent means on the municipal corporation officials. This had resulted in violence during the last anti demolition drive.
