Metro Project in Mumbai gets the start
Post a hiatus of nearly five months, the stalled tendering process for the Rs 23,126-crore Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro will be again back on track from the next week with the first board meeting of the reconstituted Mumbai Metro Rail Corp (MMRC) that is scheduled to be held on the 12th of August.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), which was until now the parent body of the MMRC, had put the tendering process on hold for the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro, which was awaiting the reconstitution of the Metro Corp and the new board taking over.
The development authority had also deferred a decision on the pre qualification bids it had received for the project in the month of March, preferring the proposals to be assessed by the new board of the reconstituted MMRC.
Hopefully the work will commence in a day or two and the project will get the required boost. The Metro Project was kept stalled until now. The authorities expect the work will now start fully fledged and will not get interrupted. The metro railway projects once finished will ease a lot of traffic from the metropolitan city.
