Metro work in Rani Jhansi grade separator to see progress
Finally, there is some progress in the Rani Jhansi grade separator project. Demolition of the 95-odd houses and shops coming in the way of the project has finally begun. North Corporation has also initiated talks with Railways and plans to buy the land.
The flyover–15 years in the making–is now scheduled to be completed within one year. P K Gupta the commissioner of North Delhi Municipal Corporation said that the demolition will go on and they have plans to expedite work. The project was delayed as land acquisition was the main hurdle. The matter concerning houses and buildings and land from Railways is now finally resolved.
They weren’t able to construct the new section of the flyover as there are four major water pipelines in the area. These pipelines have to be shifted for which North Delhi Municipal Corporation had requested for land from Railways.
This work might not take much time to get complete. The work was stalled mainly because of the houses and shops that were coming in between the construction work. The metro work will now see some flight.
