Monorail project will change Delhi public transport system: CM
The monorail project will change the public transport system in east and north-east Delhi, as per Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit.
The CM said implementing Nand Nagri railway under bridge (RUB) Road Number 68 will ease the traffic congestion and also with this, road the neighbouring places like Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Hospital will be easily accessible to the public.
Implementing of the RUB will eradicate the chances of accidents at the railway line, said CM.
The project has a u-turn facility at its both ends. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 136 crore. Also there is a U turn facility at the surface -level road of the railway level crossing and Nathu Colony Chowk on both sides. The RUB has constructed specially for light vehicles, which is 385 meter long with 5.5 meter wide dual carriageway on each side.
Better connectivity and improved infrastructure in the Delhi city has been done while maintaining Delhi’s green cover, a unique feature that distinguishes this city from other cities where the tree line is subdued by the skyscrapers, added CM.
