Mumbai civic body asked residents to use water judiciously
On Sunday, the water main attached to Upper Vaitarna has developed a 12-inch leak on its wall. As it is one of the main sources of water to the city, a 25% cut in the supply will be imposed on Fort, Marine Lines, Malabar Hill, Dadar, Parel, Bandra (east), (west) and Andheri (east), (west). The civic body has asked residents to use water judiciously.
The BMC has already started repairing the rupture that has occurred on the pipe passing through Sahar Village in Andheri (east). Normal supply will be restored by Tuesday.
The curtailment is being levied after the mains supplying water from the Upper Vaitarna sprung a leak on Sunday. As it is one of the main sources of water to the city, supply will be hindered in some areas. “The water main attached to Upper Vaitarna has developed a 12-inch leak on its wall.
