Mysore and Tumkur residents get Aadhaar card
Deputy director-general of Unique Identification Authority of India said that they have issued Aadhaar numbers to over 90% of those who have enrolled for it in Mysore and Tumkur road.
In Dharwad, the enrollment process in under way. People who have not got Aadhaar number can check the status online, and if their application is rejected, they can enroll again for Aadhaar card.
If the process is successful, they all will get ‘Congratulation’ message and the applicant may download the same and take printout so that it can be used as proof of identity. But if message reads ‘due to technical reasons your Aadhaar could not be processed’, then they may enroll for it again.
The Unique Identification Authority will set up help-desks at MysoreOne centres to facilitate those who don’t have internet facility to check Aadhaar status. Before going for re-enrollment, the applicants must check the status. Otherwise, their efforts will go in vain.
How to check the enrollment status?
Applicant may visit www.uidai.gov.in and then click on ‘Check your Aadhaar status‘ tab and follow a simple procedure. The applicants have to provide details like date, year, time and enrollment ID and key in the verification code to get the status.
What is the importance of Aadhaar number?
It is a unique number and it is valid throughout the country. Aadhaar number may be used as a proof of address in near future. All service providers are now demanding Aadhaar number because details of a person is incorporated in it.
Whether Aadhaar enrollment number is sufficient to avail LPG subsidy?
Yes, applicants may use Aadhaar enrollment number along with gas customer ID to get subsidy under direct cash transfer scheme in LPG project. All oil companies are getting Aadhaar numbers of their customers from UIDAI to implement the project quickly.
What is E-Aadhaar?
E-Aadhaar is an electronic copy of Aadhaar number, which can be downloaded from UIDAI website on an A4 sheet. This is for those who have enrolled for Aadhaar number, but are yet to get the same.
If the applicant has provided wrong information or has relocated after enrollment, they can correct the wrong information either through online or putting a request through post to UIDAI. If the address is changed, they may get fresh card or else, the applicant will get telephonic confirmation for any correction in telephone numbers and spelling.
