New Garbage Disposal Units to come up in Pune
In a move to do away with the dry garbage the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started the installation of tiny garbage crushing units in various parts of the city. The new crushing units will process the coconut shells and tree branches and convert them into fertilizer. The fertilizer in turn will be used by the PMC to in gardens and nurseries.
These new crushing units will be installed in Pu La Deshpande Garden, Hadapasar Ramp and also at Katraj Ramp and Peshwe Park. Pramod Yadav, a PMC official of waste disposal and processing have earlier said that it is a hassle to do away with dry garbage and is problematic for regular garbage processing units. He urged the residents of the areas where huge quantity of dry garbage gets accumulated to inform the officials.
