New Year Celebrations in major cities!

As the mood sets in for New Year, people around the world are thrilled to see what’s happening in their own cities.

Indeed, New Year celebrations in cities are received with great pomp and enthusiasm. Here is a roundup from the major Indian cities.

1. Mumbai:

Well as usual Mumbaites are getting ready for a royal beginning, this New Year. The Bombay high court has granted permission to all the city hotels to be opened all night till 5 a.m.

Additional 150 police constables are appointed to take care of the traffic in the city. A happening gala party is all set and ready at The Oberoi, Trident and many such luxury hotels in Mumbai city.

2. Bangalore:

New Year is the time when people of Bangalore merry around. Parties are sure to rock here! However, city police department have passed on orders to wind up parties by 1 a.m.

Brigade road and M.G road which are the usual places for celebrating New Year will not be encouraging entry of vehicles. Parking of vehicles is also prohibited!

UB City, Taj and many other posh hotels have New Year bash parties planned ahead. Traffic management is taken as a challenging task by Bangalore city traffic department.

3. Gurgoan:

Once known as the party hub, Gurgaon city now has very less preparations for the upcoming New Year 2012.

The discotheques in city malls have seen a major drop down as the party animals seem to be looking out for other safer places!

Even though the party bookings have gone down in the city, late night partying is always welcomed by city’s best and luxury hotels. However, the city police forces are ready to control situations during the New Year celebrations.

4. Delhi:

The walled city has a different standard of celebrating and welcoming New Year. Delhi NCR is colorful with shopping festivals all over the city. The commercial merchants have put up exciting and attractive discounts on New Year’s Eve.

The Delhi police department has appointed many police officials and they will be on duty to avoid any kind of crime.

Also, the traffic department is on high alert! A strict warning has been given to the citizens to avoid drink and drive especially during late nights.

5. Kochi:

The city is ready to welcome New Year with great enthusiasm! Looking forward for a bright year ahead, Kochi citizens are in zeal to welcome and enjoy the best of best moments of New Year eve.

Kochi has great projects to look ahead; with the Kochi metro to hit the floors soon. The city government has plans for new traffic management and overall infrastructure development.

There is not much of a bulletin about the New Year celebrations down the lane. However, Kochi is also in the same enthusiasm to welcome Year 2012 as all the cities do!

6. Chennai:

The youngsters in the city are getting all set and ready with the New Year 2012 sliding in soon. A sign of festivity is up in the air in Chennai city.

Partying round the city will be allowed to be followed up only till 12 or 1 a.m.

Clubs and hotels in Chennai city have been told to follow the same; however the party animals have requested the government to extend the late night party timings at least on the eve New Year.

Party circuits are in the air as there are beach parties arranged privately. Chennai on the other hand is in a happy mood to welcome its metro line.

Traffic department is on high alert especially to control situations at main signal junctions and beach side parties.

7. Goa:

This is the place to party! New Year celebrations meant to happen in Goa, it’s that splendid! This is the one stop destination where people worldwide slide in to have a blast on New Year eve.

Posh hotels like Mariott, Taj and many others have late night parties arranged. Sunburn pub party is expected to be the highlight celebration in Goa.

Casino parties are in the air and beach side parties are for sure places to visit. City police will be on general rounds frequently and special wing has been appointed to monitor beach areas.

8. Kolkata:

Kolkata has a different style of celebrating and welcoming New Year 2012 all together. Although there is not too much of a craze for partying late night, there are a few blasts arranged at all the party centers and pubs.

Many theater acts are planned to be staged on the New Year eve 2012! Apart from this, the city will be leading a usual life style with some partying here and there.

9. Ahmedabad:

New Year eve is a much awaited time for the citizens of Ahmedabad. Adventure freaks are all geared up this New Year eve with the Kankaria carnival ahead.

Cultural events for slum children will be the highlight of the city’s New Year celebration. Not much of pub and party life is expected from this city.

However, the recent updates speak about many dance and festival carnivals that are to be held in the city. Everything is expected to go well on the eve of New Year celebrations 2012.

So, if you are planning your party in any of these cities, watch out for the cops and party safe. Most importantly, do not drink and drive!
