Noida Authority approves Rs 50 crore for Noida city center underpass
Noida authority has allocated Rs 50 crore to construct Noida city center underpass, which was approved by the IIT Delhi last month.
According to reports, the tender will be wrapped up by March and the construction will start immediately after the documentations.
To prevent the traffic and pile up on the stretch, the construction work of the underpass has begun on the double U turn near Hoshiyarpur village.
This underpass will connect Sector 35 with sector 39 and also expected that traffic movement along Captain Shashikant Marg, which runs from the Noida City Centre towards Greater Noida West (Noida Extension) to avoid much traffic hassles.
The traffic flow will be at ease, as the commuters of Dadri bound traffic along Shaivalik Marg will take this underpass near the city center metro station.
According to an authority official, the last year traffic survey helped to identify the arterial roads and stretches, that experience heavy traffic flow throughout the day. This survey helped them to construct new 16 underpass which will ease the regular congestion of traffic. Also the city center metro station will be the junction of this 16 spots.
Looking at the condition of daily traffic, the authority has already started the work for few underpass across the city. A new stretch will come up between Noida and Delhi via Kalindi Kunj and also in between Noida and Ghaziabad via NH 24.
The detailed project reports of the first six underpass which includes the construction on the busy stretch between Kalindi Kunj and Sector 71 in Noida have been completed and also forwarded to IIT Delhi for their approvals.
Although the remaining underpasses are in pipeline and are expected to get approval soon. The estimated budget for this whole project is over Rs 3,000 crore and it will take around 18 to 24 months.
