Now Lodge a Sewage related Complaint through Facebook or Twitter
The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has banned dumping of garbage and sewage water in the open under Section 292 (1) of Haryana Municipal Corporation Act-1994. People who do not have access to the HUDA sewerage systems, can get their sewage and garbage lifted through the tankers listed with the corporation. The tanker owner wanting to get himself registered for colour coding should contact executive engineer-II.
The residents have to make sure that the untreated waste is decanted only at the designated treatment plants at Dhanwapur or Behrampur or DLF Sector 43.
But still tankers do not dump the waste in the stipulated place. Falling short of staff to monitor and curb the menace of private tankers dumping untreated sewage waste onto vacant plots, greens belts and roadsides, MCG has come up with an innovative idea – it has asked people to click pictures and lodge a complaint through social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter.
The MCG has a page called “Nagar Nigam Gurgaon” on these social networking sites. Complaints can be directly registered on the MCG website at www.mcg.gov.in or at the call centre number 1860-180-1817.
