October sees highest number of water bills paid
Hyderabad- The month of October saw the highest number of water bills being paid with about 3.74 lakh (nearly 47%) generating a revenue of Rs. 51.14 crore.
The collection in October is the highest in history with the water board having 7.95 lakh consumers throughout.
However, on the other hand this data proves that more than 50% of the consumers seldom pay their water bills on a regular basis, which in turn leads to a grave loss of crores of rupees by the board. According to the reports, there are only 3 lakh consumers who pay their water bill regularly.
It has been a year since 7.95 lakh-2 lakh consumers from both the domestic and non-domestic sector have failed to pay their bills which has lead to innumerable issues regarding the long-term water dues. Most of the consumers are quite unwilling to pay their water fee which has further led to the delay of raising the bills to consumers in many areas by the Water Board. Adding up to this is the illegal connections as well.
