Chennai city witnessed a good rainfall previous week and here are the condition of the roads seems to be un-explainable. It was just one spell of monsoon rain and the city roads are damaged in such a way that it demands dire need of repair. However, the same roads were constructed previous year with a huge investment made by the  Municipal Corporation of Chennai (MCC) spending nearly crores of rupees and the MCC is again gearing up for the re-construction of the damaged roads, this time spending nearly Rs. 110 crores.

The roads are damaged and the city traffic situations have turned from bad to worse. Roads at Dr Ambedkar College in Vysarpadi, Nelson Manickam, Konnur High Road, Perambur High Road and Kaliamman Koil Street in Virugambakkam have been badly damaged and demand immediate repair to avoid accidents and prolonged traffic.
C Ramakrishnan, Secretary of Federation of Adyar Residents Associations reported saying, the reason for early torn off roads are that the roads are nowadays laid off with ready mix tars which can be spread around in few minutes and is found to be completely lifeless. He added on saying, however the contractors and officials who have taken initiative of these works are to be held responsible for this pathetic prevailing situation of city roads. The commuters in the city are producing on-going complaints to corporation as they are finding tough time commuting in these roads.
