PCMC to pay Rs 17.38 crore for highway widening
The widening of Pune-Mumbai highway expansion are on plans and the construction work will commence at the earliest.
However, the highway line will be covering the defence land. Therefore, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has to pay Rs 17.38 crore to get defence land for the highway widening.
The civic authorities say that they had approached the defence wing long time before.
Now the price has been fixed and for sanction of the same PCMC has kept the proposal in front of the standing committee.
This proposal has to be cleared at the earliest, as half of the highway line is constructed and widening of about a kilo metre stretch from Phugewadi to Dapodi is remaining.
