Petition filed against Noida Authorities
The Environmentalist Mahendra Pandey, on Monday has filed a petition with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) against an upcoming ‘group housing scheme’ in the Sector 150 ‘Sports City’, that is being promoted by Noida Authorities. They have claimed that the housing scheme disregards the Authorities own Noida Masterplan.
Mahendra Pandey has claimed the plot falls under a “Recreational Green Area” according to the masterplan and that the NGT should dismiss the project. Pandey in his petition clearly stated that the recreational green area of Sector 150 was provided and was supposed to be developed into a world class sports facility by the Authority. However by pushing in a group housing project in it instead the authority is doing away from its own rulebook.
The petition will be seen into as how much the terms and violations are viable. Post proper investigation into the matter actions will be taken. Issues like such have many a times arisen. Hopefully the matter will be looked into and necessary actions will be taken. As of now no statement came from the Noida Authorities however reactions are obviously being expected from them.
