Plans Sanctioning to happen online
Months after scrapping the relaxation the previous Left Front government had given on land holdings beyond ceiling, the Mamata Banerjee government has taken a similar route to boost urban infrastructure.
Another new decision has occurred as all building plans will be sanctioned online from now on. The government has come up with a policy for the urban development department. The policy includes increasing the floor area ratio (FAR) for all kinds of buildings in the state, including old buildings that are occupied by tenants. Also under the new policy, the township projects, the logistic hubs, the terminal hubs and other transport projects will be entitled to relaxation only under Sec 14Y of the Land Reforms Act.
This might help in boosting the infrastructure as the work is being made easier with online mode of plan sanction and other required details. This new policy has already been made available to the citizens of Kolkata. Previously it used to be hectic to get a plan sanctioned for a project as it used to be time consuming but with this new technology aided system the work will be done without any hassle and faster.
