PMC general body sanctions Rs 50 crore to install STP
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) general body sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the further developments of sewage treatment project in Pune.
Long time ago during the year 2010 PMC had drawn up a plan to include eight sewage treatment plants at a cost of Rs 271.60 crore to curb pollution of the Mutha river.
Recently, the PMC General Body (GB) gave a nod to make budgetary provision of Rs 50 crore in implementing new sewage plants for next two years.
Under the Union government scheme 70 percent of the total expenditure for sewage treatment plants will be provided.
Also, the sewage treatment will be given for industrial effluents, solid garbage and construction of rubble dumped.
