No Comments Sub Category:Civic Issues,Municipality,Other cities Posted On: Jan 03, 2013

pollutionPanchkula- In a recent technological innovation, the Haryana state pollution control board (HPSCB) is all set to launch the light emitting electronic display (LED) system in Panchkula’s Sector 6.

This technology will help in maintaining the pollution records of the city. This step was taken due to launch of four continuous ambivalent air quality monitoring stations in the city of Panchkula, Rohtak, Gurgaon and Faridabad by the HSPCB.

Further more the display system is expected to present the electronic readings  of the various air polluting particles within the atmosphere. Gases like  nitrous oxide (NO) level, sulphur oxide and suspended particulate matters will be detected through the machine.

The LED machine is expected to make the people aware about the pollution rate and will effectively prevent pollution in the city of Panchkula. However, it was stated by the officials that an LED screen will be set up within the premises of the Haryana state agriculture marketing board. The LED screen setup within the city will be connected to the  quality monitoring station which will issue updates.

Although there have not been any grave pollution issues within the city, the LED display will help procure pollution level data within the city which can help people take steps to prevent it. In fact the pollution control centers set up in areas like Panchkula, Rohtak, Gurgaon and Faridabad are helping the  HSPCB generate a continuous data on the pollution level of the city. The data will be further updated by the central pollution control board (CPCB).

It was stated by an official that the pollution level  of the city is quite less when compared to other cities as there have been very few industries set up in the city. Panchkula, when compared to  Gurgaon has lesser amount of pollution. The officials also said that the updation work of monitoring the pollution related data will be outsourced  from an external agency. The monitoring station was setup in Panchkula in the month of May by the HSPCB with others stations in Gurgaon, Rohtak and Faridabad in October and November.
