Poor construction of flats

No Comments Sub Category:Construction,Infrastructure,Realty News Posted On: Aug 11, 2014

In Dwarka, 18B block houses over 930 apartments that were part of the 2010 DDA Housing Scheme. These G+10 structures are divided into two societies known as Golf Links and Samridhi apartments. A tour of the site revealed that around 200 flats were still empty and finishing touches were being given to the remaining units.

Sources in the DDA said that these houses were empty either because the residents had not paid the money on time, nor taken possession or taken possession and locked the premises. Quality of construction and planning of these apartments seem much superior compared to other complexes in Delhi that the HT Estates team visited.

While underground car parking is yet to be occupied, the complex has a capacity of 923 cars – 700 underground and the rest above. It was seen that most cars parked outside the buildings. The team also saw quite a few instances of balcony extensions and some illegal constructions.

Many of the flats that have constructed have illegal construction and poor parking systems and some of the flats are empty even now. The matters should be taken into consideration by DDA.
