Power supply in Ahmedabad drops by 35% during Diwali

Comments(2) Sub Category:Ahmedabad,Civic Issues Posted On: Nov 16, 2012
Due to Diwali lighting and decorations, the power consumption was supposed to go up but unfortunately  power consumption has come down by around 35 percent.
In last one month, before Diwali, power consumption was 8 million units per day but it has come down to about 10.5 MUs per day during Diwali day, said Torrent Power official.
Power consumption declined mainly because of two reasons like factories and many commercial establishments remain closed in this period and many residences were closed due to people going on vacation.
The power consumption during this Diwali is lower than last year, because winter has already started.

Electricity fluctuation in mega city is not acceptable. I desire to say about specially Chandkheda Area which in now part of Ahmedabad where Electricity form GEB and Now GEB decided to cover this area with underground cabling due to decrease ratio of electricity fluctuation, Because there is poll cable for electric supply and there is many chance to fluctuation due to pole cabling. which GEB will change.
