Properties can be converted from leasehold to freehold without a proper sanctioned plan
Now Delhiites can get their properties converted from leasehold to freehold even without a sanctioned building plan. The same can now be achieved through a copy of house tax assessment order or proof of permanent electricity connection.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Wednesday passed this order in a bid to clear around 1,000 such pending cases. As per the current norms a sanctioned building plan or ‘form D’ is essential for getting property converted in to freehold. However, with the new order those who do not have the same can adopt a number of procedures to get the property converted.
A copy of the building plan from a registered architect in conformity with the building bye-laws must be submitted. A copy of the house tax assessment order or grant of permanent connection from the concerned electricity authority shall be submitted as collateral evidence of construction of building, said a DDA official
This new decision has been taken by the DDA in order to help the residents. A permanent electricity connection is all they need to provide as a proof.
