Properties near Juhu airport to get reviewed
Real estate projects near Juhu Airport are going to get affected as the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has hinted that it will not be shutting down the airport’s secondary runway.
The authorities have also assured that the No Objection Certificates (NOC) that were given to 120 projects including high rise properties in Juhu will be reviewed again. These incidents are happening after allegations made by some employees in AAI to close down the secondary runway to favour builders and developers.
Recently, a meeting was being held at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Delhi about the same. The meeting was called after Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) made all possible efforts to stop the shutting down of the secondary runway. The reason for ONGC to make the efforts was because it runs its offshore operation from Bombay High using Juhu airport as its helibase.
Since, ONGC is one of the biggest users of Juhu aiport; closure of one of its runways would affect its operations.
As per report, NOCs which have been given to projects around the airport will be reviewed again to ensure that they do not come in the way of flights landing or taking off.
