Residents of Patna gathered on roads at Kurji, Digha and Durja to protest against the pathetic condition of the ghats.
Less than a week is left for the most popular Hindu festival and the district administration is not taking any action to clean the ghats for the pooja. It seems that the administration has no time for cleaning of ghat.
Sunil and Mukesh Yadav, protester said that the ghats are very dirty with garbage and filth are yet to be cleaned.
Few years ago, Chhath was traditionally celebrated only at ghats of Ganges but due to pollution and garbage dumping people started to move away from river banks. Now the people are forced to do the pooja at small ponds.
