Public anger deepens with shortage of Potable Water in Kochi

Portable water shortage in the residential localities in Kochi city is amplifying as the days are progressing. The residents around Tripunithura area staged a protest recently when they were left unattended with on going portable water shortage since few months. Leader of the municipal council C N Sundaran headed the protest and it was floored in front of Kerala Water Authority (KWA) office.
The localities in the surrounding areas reported in a deep feeling saying that the portable water supply to them is provided only once a week that too in the public taps and they are facing pains while drawing water on such days, as the queue for water will prevail form morning till evening.
The situations turned unbearable and henceforth the residents claim that they had to sit for a protest. Meanwhile the executive engineer Raju reported saying, the major fault was with the blockage of the water pipes and the clearing work is under progress. He also promised saying that, once the main water pipe is cleared the normal water supply is said to be in sooth running.
