Pune residents oppose waste disposal plant
The residents of Pune are annoyed with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)’s decision of installing and building a new biogas garbage plant next to Khagol building in Panchavati Pashan.
The residents belonging to Panchavati are against this implementation as they are facing a different turmoil.
According to the residents, the idea of implementing a five ton per day garbage plant in Panchavati is a bad decision as the plant will be capable of producing only one ton of garbage a day.
Also, the location is more prone to get water logged and henceforth the plant will be nowhere helpful in clearing the present garbage maintenance in the city.
The PMC’s special officer on duty Pramod Yadav say that the wet garbage can be handled locally by each society wherein one ton day composting plant seems to be much cheaper, less intrusive and easier to manage locally.
