Records submitted by NHAI on HRD official charges
In pursuance of an earlier order, NHAI recently submitted relevant records before a Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice BD Ahmed and Justice Siddharth Mridul. The court heard the plea of DP Majhi, who is presently working as an under-secretary in Human Resources Development Ministry and asked NHAI to produce relevant files before it to “resolve all the controversies”.
Majhi was earlier on deputation with NHAI. He had sought absorption in the agency by filing three separate applications for different posts. NHAI in 2010, however, decided to repatriate Majhi to his parent department, the Health Ministry. This was challenged by Majhi in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) but to no avail. He, therefore, moved the High Court. The court issued a notice to NHAI and asked it to place on record the relevant files concerning his requests for absorption in the department.
Majhi’s plea pointed out that he was singled out for denying the benefit. It is learnt that Central Information Commission has already ordered a probe into his applications going missing from NHAI records.
