No Comments Sub Category:Awareness,Community,Municipality Posted On: Mar 13, 2012

There is a rental mismanagement at 16 markets in Bangalore city! There are around 6,800 shops in which only 3,000 shops pay rent with average amount of Rs 120 or 380 per month.

This rental revenue is paving lot of trouble to namma Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) wherein around Rs 6 crore is due in terms of rental payment.

Most of the traders in Russell Market are paying very less rent which heading big time trouble for both BBMP as well as for the vendors.

The BBMP officials say that they need revenue in a good sum to maintain these markets by providing proper fire safety facilities.

Despite of many notices sent from BBMP, the traders here in the markets are least bothered to either follow up the notices or even pay active rent.

At the final call, BBMP commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda declared saying that if the traders fail to pay considerable rent they will asked to install fire extinguishers all by themselves!
