Comments(2) Sub Category:Commercial Real estate,Mumbai Posted On: Aug 02, 2012

Notwithstanding the prevailing negative sentiment, commercial real estate services firm CBRE says retail real estate market in India seems to be promising.

In its survey titled ‘India Retail Market view’, CBRE states that leading brands and retailers are pursuing expansion plans aggressively across India.

The survey mentions that leading brands are increasing their presence across key retail hubs. Retail mall rentals saw growth in prime city micro markets of Delhi, while values in high streets increased in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune.

CBRE, South Asia chairman and managing director Anshuman Magazine stated that rising level of activity in retail sector across key cities is evidence of the increasing confidence of domestic and international retailers in Indian market. He also added that anticipated changes in the FDI regime should propel the demand for organized retail space further.

The other highlight of the survey is the expansion of retail operation in cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Chandigarh due to growing urbanization.
