Road development delayed in Feroepur
Just like the metro rail project was scrapped for the city, the eight-laning project on Ferozepur road may meet the same fate as the state government is planning to give priority to Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) over the road project.
According to MC sources, the Rs 235-crore eight-laning project has been sidelined even though more than Rs 2 crore has been spent on its planning till date. The authorities have now decided to revise the DPR once again. Ferozepur road project will be delayed as we have to make a few amendments in the design due to the introduction of BRTS instead of metro rail project.
The report will be sent to the consultant company for the amendments as stated by NPS Kalra, who is the executive engineer (development).
The metro rail project might have helped in curbing the traffic problem but due to the scrapping of this it has caused a problem in Ferozepur. The building of the road which had been delayed was due to the changes that needed to be made in the metro rail project which was not being done and was taking up some time.
