Road Widening Work at Delhi to result in prolonged Power Cuts

Not a single day the residents are free from all the civic woes, as the residents of Delhi should now again be well prepared to face prolonged power cuts. Road widening is yet to commence at Wazirabad Road Number 66. Power discom official reported saying that this process of road widening would cause major damage to the underground cables and this is said to be disrupting power supply to parts of east parts of Delhi. Henceforth to ensure the safety of power cables the discom has decided to dismantle the power system only until the widening program is completed.

However this work carried on by the Public Work Department (PWD) is about to bring in a huge amount of loss of Rs. 5 crore with the commence of road and drain widening activity. Infrastructure is said to bear a major damage till the PWD works are done in the city. Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has been guided to collect the penalties from the agency which is undertaking the widening project if in case of any damages attained to power cables or pipes. The commuters will as usual end up with heavy traffic jams and road blocks midst heavy rainfall being recorded everyday.
