RTI Complaint Hearings Through Video Conferencing
Complaints from all over the Bihar State will be heard in Patna through video conferencing, saving three days. The Bihar State Information Commission (SIC) launched a video conferencing system for disposal of complaints related to the Right To Information (RTI).
A brainchild of Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Jankari will enable people living in the remotest corners of the state to submit applications for information under Right To Information (RTI) Act on the phone. Complaints from all over the state will be heard in Patna through video conferencing, saving three days.
The Bihar State Information Commission (SIC) launched a video conferencing system for quicker hearing and disposal of complaints related to the RTI Act, officials said.State Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) A.K. Choudhary said the SIC will help dispose complaints against principal information officers for denying information under the RTI Act to people.
Choudhary said the SIC, since its constitution, has received more than 53,000 appeals out of which 49,000 have been disposed off.
