RWH becomes mandatory in all Karnataka cities

1 Comment Sub Category:Community,Municipality Posted On: Feb 08, 2012

Now, as installation of rainwater harvesting was already mandatory in Bangalore, other cities are also following suit.

The state Legislative Assembly recently passed an amendment bill to make rainwater harvesting mandatory in all the cities of Karnataka.

It was already mandatory in all Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) wards with the passing of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage (Amendment) Bill last year.

The deadline for installation of RWH system in other areas will be notified later.

The bill also speaks about exemption of property tax by 50% for ex-servicemen and their family.
