No Comments Sub Category:Court,Court Orders,Gurgaon Posted On: Jul 11, 2012

In an exceptional move, the Supreme Court has put a stay on Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on collection of house tax from the residents of private developers’ areas.

The SC took a side with the Gurgaon citizen council as the latter argued that they had already been paying taxes to the developers and the bills of MCG stands illegal.

The SC enquired whether there was an initiative taken by MCG to offer the opportunity of personal hearing before the levy of tax.

The municipality has made a statement stating it would furnish an additional affidavit to answer the query of the court and would not resort to any coercive methods in the private developers’ area till then.
