Schneider Electric keen to participate in the country’s smart buildings’ movement

The announcement of building 100 smart cities by the government has created a lot of ripples among the corporate world and many MNCs like Otis Elevators, Johnson Controls Etc. want to board the bandwagon of this infrastructure growth. Now Schneider Electric is the newest entrant in this sector.

Schneider Electric has announced that they want to be a part of the growing opportunities for their products and services in the country’s smart buildings’ movement. The diversified multinational corporation has more than 30 manufacturing plants across various locations in India. They are all prepared to come out with a comprehensive catalogue for their products and services so that the customers get a plethora of choices to choose from.

The company stated that it was first such initiative. Satish Kumar the Energy Efficiency Ambassador and Vice-President of the company stated that the company has enough capacity to cater to the growing demand. However they were open to the idea of bringing in additional products from their global line of products as the demand goes up.

Kumar was speaking after attending the Green Building Congress held in Hyderabad last week. B Thanik the Director of Strategy and Business Development of Schneider Electric also mentioned that the demand for smart buildings and smart cities is likely to go up as various initiatives of this kind will come together in the near future.
