trafficNoida- With the repair work being  carried out on the second phase of the Kalindi Kunj bridge, Noida commuters will not be able to use the flyover to travel to Delhi.

Most parts of Noida and the DND Flyway has been witnessing grave traffic snarls due to the repair and barring of Kalindi Kunj bridge. This caused a lot of inconvenience to commuters travelling from Noida to Delhi.

The traffic police from UP and Delhi have decided to make the bridge one-way for two-months due to the undergoing repairs. However, earlier in the mid-December to mid-January the traffic was allowed from Noida to Delhi unlike now with the traffic being reversed.

This week, the commuters were stopped from using the flyover from Noida to Delhi. According to a Noida traffic police officer, there is always a huge traffic flow from Noida to Delhi through Kalindi Kunj flyover.  Other alternative routes to reach Delhi are from Akshardham, ITO bridges and the DND Flyway. Since the flyover was closed for the traffic the alternative routes were jammed with traffic with choke points being Rajnigandha Chowk , Sector-62 and many other. The police have however deployed extra personnel on these roads.

The officials who operate the DND flyway  stated that they have imposed several measures  like multiple entry and exit cards with additional employees collecting the toll prior to the vehicle reaching the toll plaza. Apparently, the peak hours witness double the traffic and a stoppage of at least 45 minutes has been experienced.
