Smart cities to look forward in urban planning
The focus of the smart cities project should be made to enhance the quality of urban life through an integrated approach to the urban planning and the execution apart from ensuring the ‘inclusivity’. This was stated by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation M Venkaiah Naidu stated on Tuesday.
Naidu was chairing the two-day brainstorming session to discuss and review the progress on the conceptualisation of the ‘Smart Cities’ initiative. The smart cities will not only help in enhancing the quality of urban life but also help in the IT sector. The 100 smart cities were announced in the budget this year by the finance minister Arun Jaitley. These smart cities will help in the development in the country.
Hopefully the first phrase work of these smart cities will hopefully start by this fiscal. These smart cities design will be made keeping in mind the factor of ‘inclusivity’ and also how much time will be invested in executing the construction work. Some of these smart cities will be upgraded from already existing cities while some other new smart cities will come up with proper urban planning.
