South Corporation states that 25% park lights do not work
New Delhi- In a house meeting by the South Corporation, it was stated by them that about 25% park lights are not functional, followed by fewer parks not having streetlights and high-mast lights.
Despite repeated complaints by the councilors to the zonal office, there was seldom any action taken against it.
The Southern Zone has a total of 714 lights in the parks out of which 421 lights are not functional. Regarding this, Subhash Arya, leader of the House, South corporation, has asked the commissioner to take immediate action. The reason for the delay of installing new lights was due to the procedural delay as per the councilors.
It was also seen that most areas of the colony were not lit properly and that the corporation has made a provision for Rs 79.8 crore for the streetlights. The discoms were held responsible for the non functioning of the streetlights.
