Storage water tank used for draining sewage
A drinking water storage tank is now used for draining sewage and dumping wastes in Hyderabad. Katora Houz was built for a purpose of drinking water storage during the Qutub Shahi reign.
Now, the storage tank is in a pitiable state and does not seem to matter either to residents or to the officials in the locality. This water storage tank was cleaned long back in 2007 and it was polluted by sewer connections opening into the pond.
However, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) authorities are blaming the residents despite of stopping them from draining into a sewage.
ASI department has requested GHMC officials to clear the mess at the earliest and make the actual use of storing water.
