Street Lights in Delhi working Day-in and Day-out

Diwali is well known as “festival of lights”. However, Delhi still seems to be in the Diwali mood, as there is no one even bothered to turn off the street lights during day times. East of Kailash in Delhi recently reported over the street lights not getting turned on every evening. The streets in Delhi were in immense dark and soon after this issue was taken to the concerned authority, the street lights started functioning normal and it is now noticeable that there is no one to turn them off.

The street lights even today is working 24/7. The commuters who have been noticing the same since a week has been fed up with the act upheld by the municipal authority. The government should not forget that residents are still facing prolonged power cuts midst these street lights are utilizing power 24/7.
K K Mittal the general secretary of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) reported saying that the street lights have been working since a week and this act is a waste of money, resulting in the power cut of the street lights permanently due to the non-payments made by the concerned officials. The residents and the commuters are fed up witnessing the street lights working day-in and day-out.
