Sunkishala to get a pumping station by the water board
Hyderabad- It was declared that the civil works will begin soon on an intake pumping station at Sunkishala in Nalgonda district as the Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) Ltd. was appointed by The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) for the job of preparing the detailed project report (DPR).
A Power Point Presentation was given by the TCE representatives on November 9 addressing to HMWS&SB managing director J Syamala Rao regarding the initial work stages at Sunkishala.
M Satyanarayana stated that the Water Board has been appointed to construct an independent intake pumping station at Sunkishala with the Puttangandi cistern which will be maintained by the irrigation department. However, the board has also been utilizing 180 million gallons of raw water per day (MGD) from the Krishna through the cistern and supplies it to the city under the Krishna project phase I and II.
After the collapse of the cistern wall in July, it was repaired by the irrigation department and hence the Water Board decided to construct an independent intake pumping station at Sunkishala.
