Survey of private land to be taken up on priority

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: May 28, 2014

The State Revenue department has recently come to a conclusion to delay the process of taking up the re-survey of all lands in the State. This does not in any way include those who have fallen within the limits of the urban local bodies. This incident occurred after the State Revenue department faced the intractable problem of disposing chunks of applications that were pending. All of them were in search of survey of private lands.

Over the last four years, the Department of Survey Settlement and Land Records have seen over 1.5 lakh applicants. A lot of them were landowners from the periphery of cities and towns. Bangalore was also one of them. Since the demand for real estate development has been so high, the land prices also tend to increase at a faster pace.

A large number of applicants are farmers and all of them are in search of survey of the private lands because of major reasons. One of them could be extracting governmental benefit such as interest free farm loans. Another reason is solving matters of quarrels over distribution of properties that occur mostly among siblings.

Recently, the government has come up with a new kind of project that would re-survey all kinds of land. This includes forests, allotting new members for survey and issuing Record of Rights, Tendency and Crops inspection. In about 14 districts, the development project has been completed. 1,600 surveyors have been recruited recently and will be finishing their training soon so that they can begin with their survey work from the upcoming month.

But according to Ponnuraj, pending applications will be cleared on priority. This is the recent decision of the government. ‘Elevation total station instrument’ is a new instrument used by the department which will speed up the process of survey compared to the traditional and old methods.
