Tertiary sewage treatment plant in Chennai
Koyambedu is soon going to get a tertiary sewage treatment plant to get rid all the garbage menace.
Metrowater has taken up the initiative to set the plant on a two-acre land in the same sewage treatment plant premises.
This will help in reducing the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in the waste for a better quality water which can be used in industries.
As per reports, the production cost would be around Rs 60-80 per kilolitre.
This type of tertiary plant has been a success in states like Gujarat and Karnataka and the same is hoped in Chennai city.
