UP Electricity Regulatory Commission issued an order over Prolonged Electricity
The UP Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) in Lucknow is likely to issue an order about the consumers facing heavy power cuts and also prolonged supply of electricity. Under the provision of the State Electricity Act the power consumers are empowered to take over this issue to the higher authorities. However this law is not applied due to genuine power cut reasons. Once the UPERC issues the orders, the compensation of Rs 50 is provisioned in case of prolonged power cut for more than six hours.
The power is promised to be restored within 13 hours in case of prolonged power. An engineer from Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA) reported saying that the local faults occurs every time and prolonged power is not purposeful and also this is undetected and during such a situation the power consumer is asked to lodge a complaint against the issue in respective power stations. The commission has ordered the power distribution system to replace the improper transmitters within 24 hours of time in rural areas and in the urban areas within the time span of 72 hours.
