Johnson Controls on Friday outlined their plans to support the growing green building movement in India. They have made their interest evident to participate in the smart city projects planned across in the country. Dennis D Kelsey the Director of Building Technology and Services, Asia of Johnson Controls stated that there is growing demand for integrated energy management and efficiency solutions for large commercial buildings. This will require a well-thought-out solutions approach.

He also mentioned that if the holistic approach is not adopted while implementing these solutions, then it will not be the ideal way to implement such complex technology-based solutions.Initial savings might happen if fragmented solutions are implemented, however in the long run it will be detrimental for the project.

Kelsey brings over 38 years of association with the $40-billion US-based multinational, Johnson Controls. He stated that they are upbeat on the business opportunities in India and looking forward to working on the smart buildings and smart city projects. He hopes that the Indian Government will choose them as their strategic partner for these projects and will give them a green signal soon to start the projects.

Kelsey also mentioned that a holistic planned approach is required to develop such smart cities. Smart cities need smart homes. They cannot do with dumb homes as it will not match with the entire concept.
