Water conservation drive to be launched by government

hyderabad waterHyderabad- In order to curb the  acute problem of depleting ground water levels in Hyderabad, a latest technique of educating the citizens regarding the ways of water conservation has been initiated by government departments.

This drive was followed by an event; a painting competition which aimed at educating the school children has been held. This event which was organised by the Central Ground Water Board (southern region) under the ministry of water resources.

This was the first event followed by similar events to be initiated in the near future to curb the water shortage crisis.

The  event had about 50 students  who were shortlisted from about  1,40,000 candidates,  from many schools across Andhra Pradesh. A  National Level competition will be held for the winners and will  have a cash price of Rs. 1 lakh.

These steps were taken to emphasize the urgency to address the issue of dropping water levels in the state with the water  level dropping  to 9.6 mark.
